Hello All!
Our family received some sad news this weekend. My dad called on Saturday morning to let us know that my mom wasn't doing well. She's been suffering with a lung disease for about 10 years now, and the last few years it has gotten pretty bad. It's sad, because she never smoked a day in her life! :( Anyway, after the call, we (dh and I) decided to leave the next day and make the trip from VA to NH.
The rest of the day Saturday was actually really fun... we celebrated my youngest daughter's 8th birthday! She has some friends over and they made some crafts & just had fun!
However, at about 10:30 Saturday night, my dad called to let us know that my mom was gone. :( I am so sad that I didn't make it up there in time to see her. After talking with my dad again on Sunday morning, we decided that we would wait, and go up to NH later in the Summer when the girls could go also. There isn't going to be any services until then anyway, so it all works out. We'll be able to take our time getting up there and spend some quality time with family & friends, remembering my mom's life. :)
Basically, I'm keeping busy. I'm catching up on some stuff around the house and hoping to be creative and do some card making & scrapping!
These are a few layouts I worked on last week. These 3 were inspired by some sketches at Scrapbook Heaven. They were holding a Sketch Crop over the week & there were some GREAT sketches!!
These are photos from Mismaloya Cove in Mexico. They are the ruins of an old movie set from "The Night of the Iguana". Supplies: MME Bloom & Grow Patterned Paper, Prima Flowers, Making Memories Brads
Photos of my youngest "helping" daddy! LOL Supplies: MME Abbey Road Patterned Paper, Uknown Flowers, Making Memories Brads, Flower trim from Michael's
My beautiful niece & one of her dance recital photos. Supplies: Autumn Leaves Patterned Paper, Uknown Cardstock, Recollections Bling Flourish, Lace trim from Wal-Mart, Sequin Trim from unknown manufactuer, Queen & Company Pearls (below is close-up of flowers I made using more of the Autumn Leaves Paper)
This layout is of my youngest daughter during her field trip to the Natural Bridge last Spring (May 2009). I used MME Bloom & Grow, Queen & Company Pearls and my Circut for the circles & title!
And last, but not least, is a picture of the cake & invitation that I made for my youngest daughter's 8th Birthday! A friend helped talk me through the cake & I had so much fun making it! And, most important, my daughter LOVED it!
Thank you for visiting my blog!!
Have A Great Day!!
