Things have been tough for our family over the past year or so, but I am so Thankful that we are all together & that we have a roof over our heads & food on our table. We may not have everything we want, but we are all together & healthy and that's what's important.
OK, now I have to admit that I'm getting a jump on the holidays as well! As part of that, I joined in on the 6 Week Santa's Workshop at Sassy Cards N Scraps! Last week's challenge was to create cards using only a few supplies (you can see my cards in a previous update), and this weeks challenge was to create a handmade holiday ornament!
I created mine using a styrofoam ball, Queen & Company Felt Fusion, Autumn Leaves Rhonna Farrer Patterned Paper, Prima Flowers, Misc. Ribbon, a large Misc. Gem & straight pins.

Since it's my day off, I jumped right into some scrapping this morning! Today I worked on a layout for a challenge over at Mothers & Daughters Creations Blog! This time, the challenge was to create a layout with a "Peek-A-Boo" element!
I decided to create a page for our Disney vacation album! This is my youngest daughter meeting Princess Jasmine! It brought tears to my eyes to see my shy little girl interacting with Jasmine & other characters while on our trip!

I used (4) 5x5 wood frames that I picked up at Michael's a while ago, and covered them with different patterned papers from Making Memories & Pebbles, Inc. Then, using my favorite little bug (Cricut Expression) I cut out the different elements & words. Finally, I addd a few Basic Grey (Mellow) rub-ons! The "2007" is hanging on a little hook, and I have made other years (2008, 2009, etc.) and have left the back of the frams open, so that I can change out the pics each year!!
Tell me what you think...

Layout was inspired by a sketch at A Page At a Time!
Cards were inspired by challenges at Moments to Remember, during their Fall Crop!

Well, I worked this morning/afternoon for about 5 hours, but I don't feel like I accomplished anything! Ever have those days?? I mean, I was busy, but seemed to not be able to finish all that I wanted to accomplish! Oh Well... what I did get done will give the decorator working tomorrow, a good head start!
Tomorrow morning, I head off to a friends house to spend the day scrapping!! I am hoping to work on my very first Acrylic album!! I'm also planning to work on some of the Challenges that are happening over at Moments 2 Remember this weekend during their on-line Fall Crop!
Tonight I finished another challenge from Mothers and Daughters Creations! The inspiration for this challenge was a beautiful mug! I was inspired by the colors, bird & flourishes! Here is my card inspired by the challenge...
